Race context
General
Athlete holding a kettlebell between the feet in a controlled hip-hinge position.

Before you start

Set up the movement.

  1. 01

Place one kettlebell centered between the feet.

  2. 02

Stand close enough that the load can travel vertically.

  3. 03

Reduce the range by raising the kettlebell if a long spine cannot be maintained.

One useful cue

Keep the first rep repeatable.

Push the hips back, keep the spine long and stand by driving the floor away.

Training use

Purpose before prescription.

IN YOUR PLAN

Use a controlled hinge to build posterior-chain strength without chasing a maximum load.

WITHOUT THE EQUIPMENT

Practice an unloaded hip hinge with hands sliding down the thighs.
